Business Survey: Proposed Environment Protection Regulations and Environment Reference Standards

This survey is designed to inform a business-led response to newly proposed Victorian Environment Protection Regulations and Environment Reference Standards (ERS).

These have been developed following last year’s introduction of new environment protection laws, which come into effect on 1 July 2020.

The proposed regulations address risks and environmental management issues relating to contaminated land, waste, water, noise, air and vehicle emissions. They also set out a new permissioning framework for licences, permits and registrations with associated fees and audit requirements.

The Environment Reference Standards (ERS) set out a science-based framework of indicators and objectives that provides a basis for assessment and reporting on environmental conditions in Victoria.

The Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is preparing a submission on how the proposed regulations and ERS are likely to impact members.

To help us shape our response, we urge you to complete this survey by 7 October 2019.

The survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.

We encourage you to consult the Victorian government’s Engage Victoria website for further information.
