Graduation Requirements

By checking the "Accept" box, you are indicating that you have read the requirements for graduation in your catalog and the following information pertaining to graduation.

Each candidate must bear the responsibility for completing the programs of study in his or her degree. Tennessee Temple University and Temple Baptist Seminary cannot be held liable for a candidate's failure to meet the requirements for graduation. No candidate will have a degree conferred or be allowed to march in commencement exercises who has not successfully completed all the required course work in the programs of study with the proper GPA. All candidates pursuing a baccalaureate or associate degree residentially must satisfactorily complete one Christian Service requirement for each semester enrolled residentially to receive a diploma.

At the beginning of the final year, each candidate is requested to submit a Graduation Application to the Registrar by June 30 for August graduation, September 30 for December graduation, and January 31 for May graduation. No one will be allowed to march in the spring commencement exercises who submits a Graduation Application after January 31. If a candidate will not be graduating, a Withdrawal of Application form must be submitted to the Registrar prior to the spring term mid-semester examinations or the student will be obligated for the full graduation fee without refund. All candidates receiving the bachelor's degree must enroll in Departmental Exit Exam (INTD 4990) their last semester and take the prescribed departmental exit examinations prior to the Class Day exercise. All final grades for transient and correspondence course credits to be applied toward graduation are due in the Registrar's Office by the last Monday in April. Unless approved by the Registrar, grades and credits for courses submitted after this date may not be used to fulfill graduation requirements for the spring commencement. Course work, final examinations and transcript submissions should be planned accordingly to meet this deadline.

Candidates may elect to have their degrees conferred in December, May or August, if all requirements have been meet. Those receiving August or December degree conferrals are invited to participate in the next spring commencement exercise and should indicate on the Graduation Application that they wish to participate. Candidates enrolled residentially and receiving a May degree conferral from Tennessee Temple University or Temple Baptist Seminary are expected to participate in Class Day exercises, Baccalaureate services, and the Commencement exercises. Requests for In Absentia must be made in writing to and approved by the vice president for academic services for the university or the academic dean for the seminary prior to March 1 to facilitate regalia orders.
