Internal Coach Information

All AmeriCorps programs require a Site Supervisor (called an “Internal Coach” for Math Corps). This is typically a staff member of the service site or district/agency, and cannot be another AmeriCorps member. This position requires a time commitment of 6-9 hours (monthly) of coaching and support per tutor and up to 5 hours of required training. To learn more about the role of Internal Coach, please refer to the Description of Internal Coach section in the Guide to Partnering (linked above).

If you do not know who your site's Internal Coach is at this time, please select “designate at a later time” and a staff member will work with you to identify this person. Otherwise, select "Enter Internal Coach Info" and please fill in the information below.

AmeriCorps Member Request

AmeriCorps members with Math Corps are referred to as Math Tutors. Please consider the items below when determining your member request for the 2025-2026 school year. If you have any questions related to your member request, please contact sites@ampact.us

Some things to consider:

  • Student need and availability - does the school schedule allow for a tutor to work with students one on one?
  • School schedule and space availability - is there a private space for member(s) and students to work?
  • Availability and capacity of the Internal Coach, this position is crucial to the success of the program at your site. (we estimate that Internal Coaches need to designate 6-9 hours per member per month, in addition to 5 hours of initial training)

Site Agreement Information and Contact Information

Site Partners are required to sign a site agreement. This agreement is required to be signed at the district or agency level and is also signed by Ampact. Please provide a contact for us to send the site agreement.

If your site is not part of a larger district or agency, please provide a contact who has authority to sign contracts on behalf of your site.

Site Fee Information

For California school partners:

This site application is not a binding contract, but rather an interest form. While federal AmeriCorps funding will cover much of the costs associated with each tutor, Local Education Agencies (LEA), are asked to pay a fee to serve as a match to the federal dollars. Scholarships may be available for LEAs who cannot afford the tutor fee(s). Upon receipt of your tutor request, our team will work with your district leadership to finalize 2025-26 tutor awards and fees. You will be notified via email of your school site's final tutor award.

Please note: the question below is for informational purposes only and will not be used in the decision-making process to award sites.

There is a site fee of $2,000 per member for Math Corps in Minnesota. While federal AmeriCorps funding covers 2/3 of the costs associated with each member, Math Corps must raise additional funds to cover the remaining 1/3. This fee is necessary to cover a portion of those remaining costs.

If a site fee is a barrier to participation in the program, please email sites@ampact.us to inquire about potential options for assistance.
