PHILOSOPHY

As a ministry of First United Methodist Church, Sonshine Preschool focuses on laying a spiritual foundation while developing each unique child.

CURRICULUM GOALS

While using a Biblically-based, age appropriate curriculum, experiences are provided to meet the children's needs and stimulate learning in all developmental areas: physical, emotional, intellectual, and most importantly, spiritual. Different levels of ability, development, and learning styles are expected, accepted, and used to design appropriate activities.

REGISTRATION & ENROLLMENT

Children of families presently enrolled and members of First United Methodist, Opelika will have priority registration during the week of February 7th. Open registration will begin February 14th. Children are placed in classes according to their age group. Children must be the proper age for their class by September 2nd of the year for which they register. Four year olds must be potty trained.

School hours are from 8:45am until 1:00pm.

School meets every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Class sizes are small with a teacher and an assitant teacher in every classroom.

We follow the Opelika city schools calendar as closely as possible.

REGISTRATION & TUITION FEES

REGISTRATION FEE:
The registration fee is $165.00 per child. It is non-refundable. This covers all student supplies, a preschool tee shirt, and supplies for special events.

*TUITION FEES:
Rate for one child: $160.00 per month.

Rate for a second child: $150.00 per month.

Total for two children: $310.00 per month.

*If paying tuition online via PayPal, add $5 for each child.

Tuition Agreement:
I understand that fees are non-refundable. I understand that tuition will be due and payable even if my child is out due to illness or quarantine. I understand that tuition will only be credited if Sonshine Preschool is closed entirely due to staffing issues, illness or quarantine of the entire school.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE

In the event of a medical emergency, I authorize First United Methodist Church Preschool Staff to take my child(ren) to the Emergency Room at EAMC or to call 911 for medical attention. *

PHOTO RELEASE

First United Methodist Church has a website, Facebook page, and Instagram. It is possible that a picture of your child(ren) will be chosen to be included in the Sonshine Preschool section of the website and/or the church's Facebook /Instagram. We are aware that there are reasonable concerns about posting pictures of minors on the Internet. We are requesting permission from each parent or guardian before including any child's picture on our website or social media accounts. No pictures will be displayed until we receive your permission.

In order to complete your registration, a registration fee is required.

The registration fee is $165.00 per child.

If you are registering more than one child, a single deposit of $165.00 will secure both of their spots. The registration fee for the additional child is required by the first day of school.
