Providing ongoing educational training for members is a major part of PORAC's philosophy. PORAC offers training throughout the state on Internal Affairs, Basic & Advanced Collective Bargaining, Association Leadership, Line of Duty Death, Political Action/PAC Management, Peer Support, and Media Relations. Many presentations involve group discussions, and hands-on exercises that provide unique problem solving skills which help members effectively deal with the issues facing our profession.
All courses are designed to enable our members to be more effective within their organizations. All classes are offered to PORAC members at a low registration cost of $125 per course/per person.
In addition to the regular training schedule, PORAC offers additional educational opportunities at our Annual Symposium IMPACT, held in April every year. This symposium brings in experts from varying fields to provide input on key law enforcement issues that effect PORAC membership and law enforcement.
