PALS Challenge to Excellence Chesstravaganza!

* Open to all students grades K-5. Three Sections: K-1, 2-3, and 4-5

* Great prizes including trophies and medals for ALL participants

* Chess and life lessons between rounds. In addition to our constant

theme of growing from mistakes and learning from losses, our Challenge

to Excellence discussions focus on setting and achieving long-term goals

* Optional special event after the main tournament:

Bughouse (team chess) Bonanza with trophies for the winning team!

Parents and children are welcome and encouraged to team up

* Exercise mind and body: kids enjoy outdoor recreation between rounds

Date: Saturday, April 8th, 2023

Location: Challenge to Excellence Charter School (6995 Carlson Dr, Parker, CO 80134)

Sections (by grade): K-1, 2-3, and 4-5

Schedule: 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Parents and kids should check-in between 8:15 - 8:45 a.m. Round times: 9:15, 10:05, 10:55, and 12:30 (after the lunch break). Awards ceremony begins at 1:45 p.m.

Lunch: There will be a lunch break after round 3 from 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. You may go somewhere else for lunch with your child, and bring them back by 12:25, or your child may bring a packed lunch to the school and stay in the gym during the lunch break.

Entry Fee: $25 ($5 discount for C2E students)

Prizes: Trophies, and medals for all participants in all sections. Unique prizes such as the Chess Queen Trophy awarded to the girl who scores the most points, the David vs Goliath trophy to the Kindergartener who scores the most points, medals for outstanding sportsmanship and outstanding games, and more!

This tournament may sell out, so please register early to secure your child's spot!
