Camp Carlo Catholic Summer Youth Program 2022 Employment Application

Camp Carlo is a Catholic summer camp built upon the principle that  both counselors and campers will grow in faith and love of Christ.  Our campers grow in their faith through the guidance and mentorship of young, enthusiastic Catholic counselors who serve as role models in a fun and safe environment.  Our counselors  have the opportunity to grow in their love of Christ through daily Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, theological discussions, and by working in a community of young Catholics.

There are a lot of great summer jobs out there. The Camp Carlo summer employment opportunity offers good pay, flexible work hours, and meaningful employment.  If your main goal is to find a summer job just to make some money, please apply elsewhere.  If you are open to spending the summer as a missionary for Christ right here in Catonsville, and want to be a positive role model for youth and grow in your faith while connecting with an amazing team, Camp Carlo is the place for you.

Below are responsibilities of staff members, in order of importance.

Counselors are expected to:

  1. Keep our children safe.
  1. Serve as positive Catholic role models for our children.
  1. Provide sound spiritual instruction and example.
  1. Be punctual, supportive and show initiative.
  1. Be an example of fun and excitement.

“I am third” is a motto by which counselors shall conduct themselves. If you have hesitations about your willingness to put your personal desires on hold for the needs of the children, please do not apply. A document explaining the Professional Code of Ethics for Camp Carlo follows for you to review and sign as part of your application.

Our appearance is important. We assume that, if hired, you will show up for work looking clean and presentable.

Please keep in mind that assignments fluctuate frequently and flexibility is a must. All work assignments are at the discretion of the Director, or their acting representative, and may change based on the needs of a particular camp week.

This is an amazing and exciting experience provided you are willing to open your heart to growing in relationship with Christ and willing to turn your summer over to God!

We will be in touch with you after receiving your application to let you know where we stand in the hiring process. Once applications have been reviewed, those qualified will be contacted for an interview.  If you are invited to interview, you will be required to create and present a lesson plan for a class of your choosing from the 2022 schedule.

We look forward to learning more about you through this process and pray that the Holy Spirit guides us in building a great team for this summer. Thank you for your interest in working at Camp Carlo.
