This 12-question self-assessment is designed to help lawyers better serve clients and reflect on practice strengths and weaknesses.
It covers three topic areas in which clients commonly file complaints against attorneys: retaining a client, representing a client, and handling client funds.
To complete the self-assessment, you must respond to each question. Review the feedback to each response for ways to improve your performance in these areas. The feedback and resources include applicable Rules of Professional Conduct and other authorities and resources, including case law and ethics opinions. Where applicable, the resources may also include relevant educational videos, websites, articles, reference guides and templates or forms. You should consult these resources to help you excel in your practice and enhance your professional integrity and effectiveness.
After completing the self-assessment, you can download a comprehensive list of resources for you to review related to the topics in the self-assessment. This course qualifies for one hour of self-study ethics MCLE credit.
For MCLE self-study credit, you must download the MCLE certificate at the end of the self-assessment. Once you close the self-assessment, you will not be able to access the MCLE certificate link. Save a copy of the MCLE certificate to your device for your records.
