2024 Rural Medical Education Conference Scholarship Application

2024 Rural Medical Education Conference
May 7, 2024
New Orleans, LA

The National Rural Health Association has scholarship funds available for students and attendees with a critical need for financial support with conference expenses.  Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, to individuals who meet the eligibility criteria specified on the enclosed application form, and who are unable to attend the Rural Medical Education Conference without such support. Scholarships are only available for those attening the in-person conference.

In an effort to foster professional development, scholarships will be given to students currently enrolled in medical school.  The scholarships will help expose these students to emerging health issues and encourage their participation in resolving these issues through positive solutions.

The scholarship is to help offset the cost of the conference registration fee, hotel accommodations, and your travel expenses.  Your total scholarship award will be $1,200.

Scholars selected are expected to provide their own funds to pay for their remaining expenses, including registration.  Scholarship recipients will be notified of their award upon receipt and review of the application. Scholars will receive their award once they arrive at the conference.

Qualifications:

Because scholarship funds are very limited, financial assistance can be provided only to students with a critical need for this support. To qualify for a conference scholarship, an applicant must (1) work or reside in a rural or frontier area; (2) explain why they cannot attend the conference without financial assistance (see below); (3) provide their own funds to pay for their additional expenses to participate in the event.

In the space below, briefly explain the reason(s) why you cannot attend the conference without financial assistance.
