Canditates for the Journal of Rural Health editorial board will be evaluated on a variety of factors including but not limited to:
Professional discipline/orientation; gender, racial, and ethnic diversity; geographic diversity; prior publication of articles; prior article review experience; demonstrated commitment to human services; and contributions that you may be able to make to the editorial board. Preference will be given to applicants who have previously served as reviewers and/or have submitted an abstract to the JRH.
Terms for open positions of the Editorial Board will begin January 1, 2023.
All board members serve three-year terms. Their duties include reviewing manuscripts, recruiting potential reviewers, setting editorial content guidelines, and soliciting manuscripts for publication in the journal.
Participation in editorial board events is required, as is active participation on an editorial board subcommittee during the three-year election term.
The board meets once annually in conjunction with the NRHA Annual Conference each May and via teleconference each quarter. Members pay their own travel and lodging expenses for the annual meeting.
All board members must remain a good-standing member of the National Rural Health Association for the duration of their term.
