Please read the important info below before registering:
- All parade entries must have a thematic connection with UCSC and/or with Banana Slugs.
- All participants / groups must carry an identifying banner or sign, visible to the public, or be otherwise easily identified.
- Parking: Parade participants / entries are responsible for your own parking. Please pay close attention to time limits in downtown lots and meters.
- Check in: Please have your group report to the staging / information area (located on Cathcart Street between Pacific Avenue and Cedar Street) between 9:30 and 10:30 AM to check in.
- Please do not throw candy, toys, fliers, advertisements, or other materials (i.e. slugs) into the crowd, as the City of Santa Cruz prohibits this.
- Vehicles: All vehicles must be in place by 10:00 AM as it is difficult to maneuver through the staging area after that time.
- Please ensure that your entry description is accurate. If, on the day of the parade, the entry is drastically different than described, you may be asked to not participate.
- This is a community-wide parade and celebration, and is family friendly. Your parade entry should reflect this.
- Parade applications must be received by Friday, October 23rd.
Liability Waiver:
In submitting this registration form and entering this event, I agree to release the City of Santa Cruz and the Downtown Association, their officers, agents and employees and all event co-sponsors, from any and all loss, cost, damages or injuries that may be suffered by me or the group I represent, and further agree to hold harmless, defend and indemnify the City of Santa Cruz, the Downtown Association, their officers, agents or employees, from claims of third parties arising from or in any way related to my participation in this event. My signature on this entry form certifies that I have read and will abide by the rules herein.
Photo Release
I agree to any photos of anyone participating in the parade, taken by the City of Santa Cruz, the Downtown Association, or their representatives, being used for future marketing or promotional items.
