Lassen Community College Student Speakers give speeches that are 3 to 5 minutes in length.  In general, the tone of the speech should be motivational.  You should speak about your time at Lassen Community College, things you have learned, personal hardships you may have overcome, and/or your goals for the future or how Lassen Community College has helped you on your path to achieving them.  However, do not be afraid to make the speech your own.  While this is not an academy award acceptance speech, you are welcomed and encouraged to thank key people who have contributed to your success.

Once applications have been reviewed, you will be scheduled to give your speech to a panel of Lassen Community College staff.  After hearing all candidates, the panel will choose one or two students to speak at the commencement ceremony on May 24th, 2024.  We wish you luck, and would like to thank you for your interest in representing Lassen Community College.
