Phi Theta Kappa - Alpha Nu Omicron Chapter Induction Ceremony Information

Congratulations on your accomplishments! You will be
joining  your fellow honor students at the induction
ceremony Saturday, March 24, 2012.  You will individually be called on stage by major, while an advisor reads your
story to the audience, a representative of your major
area places the honor stole on you and you sign the
Alpha Nu Omicron member book.  You may invite your
sponsor and family & friends to join you for this
special day in Guerrieri
Hall starting at 4 p.m.  You will
need to arrive at 3 p.m. for photos.

Help us make the Induction Ceremony a meaningful experience for you and everyone present as you celebrate your accomplishments. Please take time to carefully complete all of the information in this form BEFORE Friday March 9, 2012. Failure to do so may mean you are not included in printed program.

You do not need to purchase or bring an honor stole with you.  The chapter has stoles to be used during induction and graduation and they are returned after the ceremony.  However, if you wish to purchase your own stole, you may do so by going to recognitions online at www.ptk.org.

During the ceremony, when you are called to the stage, your degree/major and sponsor will be announced and then a brief biographical sketch you provide here will be read to the audience while you come up on stage to sign the Phi Theta Kappa membership book and receive the Honor's Stole.

Most students include some biographical information, short & long term goals, hobbies or non-class activities, specific accomplishments of special meaning for them, or barriers they have overcome to become an honor student.  Many also use this time to thank their sponsor, whether or not they can attend, and any of those who are present and have supported them in their journey to this accomplishment.  Since someone else will be reading it, be sure to write your information in third person (use "he/she/their" rather than "I/me/my").
