We are pleased that you are interested in participating in the advanced equestrian programs at Skylark Ranch. Our advanced Western and English programs are designed for the serious rider who wants to truly improve her skills in her chosen style of riding. Through a comprehensive curriculum, riders will spend approximately four hours of each day in riding lessons and another portion of the day in vaulting and theory/horsemanship lessons.
Due to the advanced level of riding skills needed for Tally Ho! and Wild West Adventure, campers must posses certain riding skills and experience in order to participate. In addition to the camp registration form/process, you must complete the advanced riding application for review by the Camp Director and Equestrian Director. Each application will be reviewed and campers will be selected if they meet the criteria necessary for the program. If you are accepted, the registration process will continue. If your application is not selected, you will be contacted by the Girl Scout office to discuss alternative possibilities. Remember, placement in one of the advanced equestrian programs requires both a registration form AND an approved application.
These programs sometimes require an extra time for placement notification. If you have questions along the way, please feel free to contact me at (408) 287-4170 ext 4001. Again, thank you for your interest in our advanced equestrian programs.
Yours in camping,
Tori Barnes
