2010 Ultimate Chef America

Yes! We would like to participate in Ultimate Chef America 2010!

Thank you for your interest to participate in the Ultimate Chef America 2010 competition. We invite Brookdale culinary associates to join in the competition. Interested individuals will need to be nominated by their Executive Director. The contest is open to Dining Services Managers, Executive Chefs, Kitchen Managers, and Cooks. All nominations will be reviewed by the Divisional Ultimate Chef America nominating committee. Each divisional competition will be limited to eights chefs. Chefs will work in two teams of four chefs. Qualifications for Nominee Chefs:
- Must be at least 18 years of age and ServSafe certified
- Minimum one year with Brookdale and without corrective counseling
- Favorable resident satisfaction at community
- Favorable state/health department inspections for past year
- Must be available to attend planning meetings prior to the event
- Must be available for travel during the week of the event
- Must actively demonstrate Brookdale mission and cornerstones

Nomination guidelines
- All nominations must be made by an Executive Director
- Nominations are due 90 days prior to competition
- All nominations will be reviewed by the UCA nominating committee

Important
Upon receipt of the nomination, the nominee will receive a notification and Nomination Assignment. This assignment includes a bio, recipe and brief essay to be completed by each nominee. The Nomination Assignment must be completed within one week of receipt.

The Bio: should describe the chef's culinary background, education, work experience, as well as additional details. This information may be shared with the audience attending each UCA event and may also be used in programs and other UCA material.

The Recipe: should be a recipe representing healthy cooking for seniors. Recipes must be in adherence with the American Heart Association. This recipe may be shared with the audience attending each UCA event and may also be used in programs and other UCA material.

The Essay: should describe how the nominee has impacted the lives of seniors through cooking. This may also include examples of how the nominee exemplifies the Brookdale mission and cornerstones through the culinary arts.
